Stories that move people.
We are building TASIRI because we believe stories can do more than inform.
They can make us look again. They can introduce us to people and places we might never otherwise encounter. They can challenge assumptions, open conversations, reveal possibilities and, when told with purpose, move people to act.
TASIRI is a Pan-African media and creative platform built around that idea.
We will tell stories about people, communities, ideas and the forces shaping Africa and the wider world. Through journalism, film, photography, documentaries, podcasts, articles, social campaigns and creative projects, we will explore the issues that matter while seeking out the people, ideas and solutions that are often overlooked.
Our starting point is Africa. Our ambition is much larger.
We want to build a platform that can travel across borders, languages and cultures — connecting audiences with stories from Nigeria and the rest of Africa, while also bringing African perspectives to wider global conversations.
But TASIRI is not simply about producing more content.
It is about creating work that has meaning and purpose.
Some of our stories will celebrate progress. Others will examine difficult problems, question powerful institutions, document injustice or confront uncomfortable realities. We will not shy away from complexity simply to make a story easier to consume.
At the same time, we believe that constantly telling people what is wrong is not enough.
There are people building schools, creating businesses, developing technologies, protecting communities, advancing culture, solving local problems and imagining different futures. Their stories deserve attention too.
So we will look for the people behind the issues, the ideas behind the change and the possibilities beyond the problems.
What we want to build
TASIRI will grow into more than a publication.
It will be a media platform, production company and creative ecosystem — producing original work while collaborating with organizations, businesses, communities, institutions and individuals who have meaningful stories to tell.
Our work will span:
Journalism. Films. Documentaries. Photography. Podcasts. Social campaigns. Events. Creative production. Training.
Commercial and commissioned work will help create the capacity to produce independent original stories and projects with public value.
Our goal is to build something sustainable: a serious African media and creative institution capable of producing work that travels, matters and lasts.
Why TASIRI?
Tasiri is a Hausa word associated with effect, influence and impact.
That is the idea at the heart of everything we hope to do.
We want our work to leave something behind — a new understanding, a new question, a new connection, a new possibility or a reason for someone to act.
We don’t know where every story will take us.
But we know where we are headed.
Towards stories that matter.
Towards a more connected Africa.
Towards ideas worth sharing.
Towards people worth hearing.
Towards possibilities worth pursuing.
Welcome to TASIRI.
Stories that move people.
